Smartheritance is a digital inheritance management platform that helps users securely organize financial accounts, assets, liabilities, property, documents, and personal wishes in one place. The platform simplifies estate planning through automated asset discovery, secure beneficiary access, digital legacy tools, and partner integrations.
Estate planning fails at the seams. Asset records sit in physical folders and disconnected accounts, access has to be locked down absolutely until the exact moment it must open completely, and the families left behind inherit a search rather than a map. Software in this space carries a trust burden that ordinary SaaS never has to bear, because there is no acceptable margin for error.
Inheritance details spanned bank accounts, insurance policies, loans, property, vehicles, social media, and sentimental wishes, and almost none of it lived in the same place. Records sat in physical folders or disconnected digital accounts, which made holistic estate management close to impossible and left families guessing at what actually existed.
Beneficiaries need instant access at the precise moment of need, and no access whatsoever before it. Meeting both requirements at once demanded a high-trust permission architecture rather than conventional role management, since an early release would be a breach and a late one would defeat the entire purpose of the platform.
A platform of this kind has to be architected as a system of trust rather than a document repository. That means automating data capture so records stay current without effort, verifying the moment of handover through independent signals rather than a single switch, and opening the platform to the advisors and legal partners who already sit alongside families at exactly this point in their lives.
SmartSync removes the burden of manual data maintenance by connecting to Gmail and Outlook APIs and extracting asset and liability signals directly from a user's mail. The dashboard auto-populates and stays current without anyone updating it by hand, which is what keeps the estate record accurate over the years it needs to remain accurate.
A proactive engagement framework monitors two independent activity signals, mobile step and health tracking plus a custom browser extension watching for activity, each of which resets the user activity counter. Sustained inactivity opens a 90-day escalation of automated reminders, then manual team review, then verified handover to beneficiaries.
Executors and heirs navigate estate settlement from a clear roadmap rather than a search, cutting the time, cost, and emotional toll that probate and asset hunting normally carry.
Users move from unorganized paper chaos to a structured digital record of the full estate, so no asset, account, or personal wish is left behind or quietly forgotten over time.
Partner integrations let law firms and advisory providers onboard their own clients through a dedicated channel, extending reach well beyond direct signups and opening a new revenue line.
Eternalight built Smartheritance on React, TailwindCSS, and TypeScript for a responsive web and mobile experience, with a Java backend behind a secure API gateway and PostgreSQL handling relational asset mapping. Security rests on AES-256 encryption at rest, OAuth 2.0 with OpenID Connect, and hardware-backed audit trails, deployed on AWS following a structured delivery process.

Handling deeply personal financial and legal records calls for security compliance and privacy-by-design well beyond standard SaaS expectations. Every decision about data handling, authentication, and storage had to withstand scrutiny, because a single lapse in a product built around legacy and death would end user confidence permanently.
Families and executors rarely inherit a unified map of a loved one's estate. Without one, settlement stretches into months of administrative delay, legal confusion, and assets that are simply overlooked because nobody knew to look for them. The emotional cost of that search compounds the financial and procedural one.
A built-in will drafting feature supports two-person digital signing, alongside recorded personal video messages and sensitive file attachments. Legacies transmit as the person intended them rather than as executors reconstruct them later, which covers the sentimental ground that purely financial estate tools leave entirely untouched.
A partner integration layer opens the platform to law firms, will drafting services, consultancies, and other providers building products around legacy planning. Partners integrate Smartheritance into their own offering and onboard their clients through a dedicated channel, turning distribution from one-to-one signups into a scalable revenue line.
